4. LED video processor for LED display
With the wide application of LED displays in various occasions, single computer control LED display has not met the needs of users in the past. LED video processors have been introduced on the market to improve the display performance of LED displays. The LED video processor mainly includes the following functions:
1) Video signal conversion function
Supports VGA, SVGA, XGA format digital signals or analog signals to be converted into LED display specific video format signals. The LED video processor's image enhancement function converts the PAL signal into an image signal of 50 image frames per second, while the image signal of NTSC signal converting can achieve to 60 frames per second. The increased screen playback speed makes the fast motion displayed on the screen become consistent.
2) Color space conversion function
Since the color space of the LED display screen is much larger than the color space of the current television signal, if the RGB tricolor signals of the television video are directly used in the display screen to control the illumination of the tricolor of the LED, a color deviation will occur, so that the image displayed by the LED has obvious distortion with the color of the original image, which seriously affects the display effect. The video processor converts NTSC and PAL color values to LED color values, ensuring perfect reproduction of the video signal.
3) Adjustable GAMMA correction function
GAMMA correction improves dark and bright areas of the image, eliminating blur or transition contrast. GAMMA correction enables adjustment of the image's brightness and darkness, and enhances the effect of the dark and bright areas of the image on the LED display.
4) Image processing technology
Different image processing techniques are used to pre-process the image to be displayed on the LED display screen to improve the display effect of the LED display screen for different occasions. For example, due to the problem of image inconsistency caused by fast motion, moving image processing technology can be used to ensure smooth motion and optimal image of the LED display screen; Diagonal compensation technology checks the diagonal mode of the video image to make the edge of the image becomes smooth. Image sharpening technology highlights the edges of the image making the display clearer and smoother.
5. Conclusion
In summary, improving the display effect of the LED display can not be determined solely by the level of several technical indicators of the LED display, but also needs some other key technologies to support. In terms of high end product technology, there is still a big gap between domestic enterprises and some well-known LED display manufacturers in the world. Domestic enterprises need to increase R&D investment in key technologies to break the monopoly of foreign key technologies, and enter the high-end LED display market to obtain greater competition.
